Faith Nostbakken
PhD, MTS
Welcome! My name is Faith Nostbakken and I am delighted that you have found me here. It is my joy to accompany people as they journey along the rich spiritual pathways of life and/or as they navigate through the academic requirements of Theology school.
I am a spiritual director (sometimes also called a spiritual companion) whose ministry is to encourage and support others in being open to the presence of the Holy (God) in their lives or who simply hunger for such experiences and are at a loss to know how to begin.
As a spiritual director, I am also trained and experienced at guiding people through the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola.
Retreats and Workshops
As a Christian educator, I facilitate retreats and offer workshops, classes, and seminars on various topics of faith and spirituality online and onsite. Since 2015, I have been part of the leadership team for Presence, a two-year program that trains spiritual directors at Providence Renewal Centre in Edmonton, Alberta.
Grief Recovery Specialist
I am an Advanced Grief Recovery Specialist through the Grief Recovery Institute and am equipped to guide people through grief and loss with a structured program that supports and educates people toward healing from the various sources of grief they encounter and experience.
Editor and Writing Coach
I have for many years used my English language education (PhD) and Theology studies (MTS) to edit, coach, and support people in their writing skills, especially as they study Theology. Beyond Theology, however, I work across diverse disciplines since all writing can benefit from a skilled set of eyes and the knowledge of a language professional.
